What this site is

Tustin CA Plumber is run by Jack. It is a referral and information service for Tustin and North Tustin. We are not a plumbing contractor, we hold no C-36 licence, and we never touch your plumbing. What we do is answer the phone, work out roughly what you are dealing with, and put you with an independent licensed contractor who covers your ZIP.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A referral service that pretends to be a contractor is breaking California law, and a contractor pretending to be independent when they are not is misleading you about who carries the licence and the insurance. So we say it plainly on every page, including this one.

What we publish, and why

Most plumbing sites serving this city publish no prices, no permit information and no local detail. They publish a phone number and the words transparent pricing. We went the other way.

• Price ranges. Standard hourly rates, service call fees, after hours multipliers and a worked emergency example, so you can judge any quote you are handed, including one that comes through us.
• Permit authority by ZIP. 92780 and 92782 file with the City of Tustin. North Tustin in 92705 files with the County of Orange. Filing with the wrong one is the most common administrative mistake made on plumbing work here.
• What actually fails, by build era. Old Town galvanised, post war slab copper, Tustin Ranch recirculation loops, Tustin Legacy tankless. Different decades, different problems.
• Water hardness. Tustin commonly runs 13 to 19 grains per gallon. Anything above 10.5 is classified very hard. It is why water heaters here fall short of the national average and why shutoff valves seize.

How to check up on us

You should not take a referral site at its word, including this one. Here is how to verify the thing that actually matters, which is the contractor who turns up at your door.

• Ask for the CSLB licence number before you agree to anything. It appears on your written estimate.
• Look it up at cslb.ca.gov. Free, about two minutes.
• Confirm the classification reads C-36. That is the plumbing contractor classification. A general B licence is not the same thing.
• Check the status is active and the expiration has not passed.
• Check bond and workers compensation on the same record. Licensed, bonded and insured are three separate protections and a company can hold one without the others.
• Read the complaint and disciplinary history shown on the record.

Under Business and Professions Code section 7030.5, licensed California contractors must carry their licence number in every advertisement soliciting work. Several plumbing companies ranking for Tustin searches show no licence number anywhere on their site. Under section 7027.1, advertising construction work without a licence in the classification advertised is a criminal misdemeanor in this state.

How we vet the contractors we refer

Before we pass you to anyone, we check their record with the California Contractors State License Board. Three things, all on the same public record you can read yourself.

• An active C-36 licence. C-36 is the plumbing contractor classification. A general B licence is not the same thing and we do not treat it as equivalent.
• A current bond. This is a limited fund that covers certain claims against their work.
• Current workers compensation cover. This is what protects you if someone is injured on your property. Licensed, bonded and insured are three separate protections, and a contractor can hold one without the others.

We check the CSLB record before referring a contractor. We do not monitor it continuously, so the number on your written estimate is still worth looking up yourself at cslb.ca.gov before work begins. It is free and takes about two minutes.

How we get paid

Contractors pay us a fee for each lead we send them. You pay us nothing, and the price you are quoted is set by the contractor, not by us.

It is worth understanding what that arrangement does and does not create. Because we are paid per lead rather than as a share of the finished job, we earn the same whether your visit turns out to be a thirty dollar washer or an eight thousand dollar repipe. We have no financial reason to push you toward larger work, and we do not diagnose anything ourselves.

What it does mean is that we have a commercial relationship with the contractors listed on this site. That is exactly why every page tells you to verify the licence yourself and why we publish price ranges you can measure any quote against, including a quote that came through us.

What we will not do

• We will not quote you a firm price over the phone without anyone seeing the job. Anyone who does is guessing.
• We will not refer a contractor who works without a written estimate.
• We will not suggest skipping a permit. Unpermitted work is a disclosure problem when you sell and an insurance problem if it fails.
• We will not publish invented reviews. There are none on this site.
• We will not tell you that you need a repipe, a new water heater or a sewer replacement. That is a diagnosis, and it belongs to the licensed contractor who has actually looked at it.
